How to direct a student to make an appointment in Navigate to meet with an SRC
- Go to the research help page: https:calstatela.edu/library/research-help
- Click on Make an Appointment with a Student Research Consultant
- Log in to MyCalStateLA http://my.calstatela.edu/
- Click on Navigate LA Appointment Scheduling under Academics
- Click on Get Assistance
- Choose type of appointment = library research assistance
- Choose service = basic research help OR citation help
- Pick a date/time that fits your schedule or click on Find Available Time to browse
- Once you select a day and time, add details in the comments section of the form about what you would like to discuss during your appointment (i.e. course number, research topic, assignment or citation style, etc.)
- Click on schedule
How to direct a student to make a research appointment with a librarian
1) Go to the research help page: https:calstatela.edu/library/research-help
2) Click on the find the librarian for your department link
3) Click on the make appointment link under the appropriate subject librarian’s name
4) Follow the instructions listed to either schedule an appointment or e-mail the librarian to set up a Zoom appointment.
How a library employee can make an appointment with an SRC FOR A STUDENT in Navigate
- Start at Navigate link: https://calstatela.campus.eab.com/
- Select the current semester/ year in the top right-hand corner of the page
- Click on the arrow next to Additional Modes in the bottom right-hand corner of the page, select appointment center.
- Click on Virtual- library research assistance under available locations
- Enter student name in the search box directly above the scheduling grid
- Check CIN if multiple students come up
- Go to Scheduling grid-- Care unit= library research assistance
- Service= Basic research or citation help
- Select SRC name by clicking in the staff box
- Click on find first available or search date and time White= available, grey= unavailable
- Appointments default to 30 min but you can override by clicking in the white space and selecting a different time in the create an appointment form.
- Enter comments for the SRC about the topic of the appointment—research topic, assignment, citation style, etc
- Click create appointment
