The Cite It! bookmarklet enables you to add web resources to your Reading List from supported sites. Cite It! will automatically harvest the title, URL, and other details. Remember to check for accuracy when adding resources to your list.
1. In the upper right-hand corner, click your initials.
2. Click Cite It!
3. A pop-up will appear explaining how to install the Cite it! bookmarklet.
Install the bookmarklet by drag and dropping it to your bookmark panel. Chrome or Firefox are recommended.
4. You can view the sites supported by Cite it! by clicking the Supported sites. You can scroll through the list or search for a site. Not all websites can be used with Cite It! bookmarklet. For the most up to date list of Supported Sites, see below.
5. Once you are on a supported site (example: OER Commons), click on your Cite it! bookmarklet. A Reading List pop-up will appear with the Title, Type, and Source pre-filled. You can change the Title, add the Author, and any additional notes.
6. To finish adding your new resource to your list, select the appropriate Reading List from the List drop-down menu, or save it to your Collection, allowing you to save the resource to multiple Reading Lists. Click Add & Close.
7. If a resource is not from a supported site, you can always add the resource using the Blank Form option. Refer to the Adding Non-Library Resources section for further instructions.
* As of November 2024, these sites have currently blocked Cite It! functionality. Leganto is currently working on browser extensions.
