  • Tenured faculty member primarily responsible for providing information literacy instruction and research consultation in the areas of business, law and economics;

  • Oversee collection development and acquisitions in the following subjects: accounting, marketing, finance, information systems, career development, economics, management, interdisciplinary business, tax and law;

  • Create and teach credit bearing general education courses for undergraduate students in information literacy in academic and professional environments;

  • Instructor in the department of marketing with focus on social marketing, sales, and internet marketing; Teach credit bearing classes and directed readings for undergraduate and graduate marketing students in the above areas; Develop curriculum related to emerging topics including social media marketing and community based social marketing;

  • Coordinate information literacy instruction efforts campus wide along with the development of curriculum and instruction that supports student success related to library research and information seeking;

  • Support faculty scholarship and pedagogy through consultation on diverse topics related to research, copyright and instructional design;

  • Participate in departmental and university shared governance through membership in a variety of committees, work groups and taskforces;

  • Utilize diverse business background and experience for consultation with administration in library operations related to budget creation, marketing, market research/assessment, and strategic planning.

Hired, trained, managed and motivated 12 full-time and 70 part-time academic sales and marketing representatives. Duties included the creation, development and implementation of customer support and product training programs for a variety of LexisNexis’ legal research and practice solutions-based products to more than 200,000 students, faculty, deans and librarians globally. Managed marketing and sales operations including budgeting, marketing programs, sales forecasting and goal setting on a national level. Designed and conducted national new hire sales program for an entire business unit. Crafted sales, product and marketing strategy for academic customers that transition to law firm and government markets. Pioneered the use of social media for engaging customers and instilling loyalty. Achieved top performer status for all years in this position.

Secured revenue targets through cross-selling LexisNexis product line into new departments. Developed LexisNexis’ growing corporate legal subscription business in the Western United States. Managed LexisNexis corporate legal customers accounts in CA, WA, OR, TX, CO, UT, ID, AZ and NM in order to convert them to long-term subscription plans and develop enterprise wide contracts. Consulted with corporate law departments, at the General Counsel level, in order to reduce costs by conducting legal and business related research and litigation in-house, as opposed to relying exclusively on outside counsel. Single year site license for use of SCVNGR.com, a mobile phone, text messaging technology tool for creating interactive location based gaming. Useful for creating library and university wide tours that require students to work as teams in order to uncover useful information about available  services and resources.
