Immigration Statistics from American Factfinder

To find information about immigrant populations in the United States

1) Choose Guided Search

2) I'm looking for information about people.

3) Origins > Foreign Born

4) Choose a breakdown geography (e.g., state) for current residence

5) Are you looking for data for a race or ethnic group (race, ancestry, or tribe)?: click SELECT FROM DETAILED GROUPS

6) Type in country of birth (make sure it is added to your selections

If not interested in specific country of birth click on next to find broader characteristics of foreign born populations

7) Choose your tables to display.

Here is a good example of a table created using this approach in American Factfinder that includes statistics for immigrants in California and specifically in Los Angeles County.
