The case study/discussion training method is one in which trainees are given a written report of either an actual or a fictitious organization problem that they analyze individually or in small groups, devise a solution based on assumptions about resource, economic, and legal restraints, and develop an implementation plan (Camp, Blanchard, and Huszczo, 1986). After the final solutions have been made, the large group reconvenes to a discussion led by the trainer about their solutions, the decision-making process, and the effects of their interventions.
