Mission Statement
Lamp Community ends homelessness of Los Angeles' most vulnerable individuals, primarily adults with mental illness, through a continuum of services and housing, enabling them to reach their highest level of self-sufficiency and community integration.

The Mission of the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is to mobilize resources to fight hunger in our community.

Our Vision is that no one goes hungry in Los Angeles County. To fulfill our mission, we source and distribute food, and other products to those in need with the help of partnering agencies and Food Bank programs. We also conduct hunger education and awareness campaigns and advocate for public policies that alleviate hunger.

Since 1973, the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank has distributed more than 1 billion pounds of food. It provides food to 280,500 people every month and in the latest year distributed 59 million pounds of food. The Food Bank collects food from hundreds of resources, which – with the help of nearly 30,000 volunteers annually – it distributes through a network of 700 partner agencies. 97 percent of revenue raised go directly to programs.

The Midnight Mission Statement of Purpose

The Midnight Mission offers a path to self-sufficiency to men, women and children who have lost everything. Our emergency services, 12-step philosophy, job training, education and work programs offer a compassionate bridge to productive lives. We help remove obstacles to self-sufficiency and provide the accountability and structure that people who are experiencing homelessness need to rejoin their communities. Our conviction and commitment to their success define us.

At Union Station, we help individuals and families identify the causes that led to their homelessness, and provide the tools and resources they need to end their cycle of homelessness and lead productive and stable lives.

“SOVA” is a Hebrew word that means "eat and be satisfied."
Much more than a food pantry, JFS { SOVA provides free groceries and an array of supportive services to over 12,000 individuals of all ages, ethnicities and religions each month. At SOVA's three comprehensive service centers in the Los Angeles area, we offer:

Sustenance:
Free nutritious food that nourishes families, helps children perform better in school, and strengthens the elderly.

Opportunity:
Free on-site services including legal advocacy, job counseling, nutrition counseling, food stamp enrollment, information and referrals, case management and counseling.

Volunteerism:
Hundreds of people of all ages work together each week to support the program and the community.

Advocacy:
We reach out to the community and legislators in support of vulnerable members of society in need of food, opportunity and social services.

Since March of 1996, Food on Foot has operated as a volunteer-based, non-profit organization providing hot, nutritious chicken dinners, snacks (fresh fruit, carrots, granola bars and bread), and drinks (bottled water and milk) to as many as 200 homeless and poor individuals and families each week. During our weekly meal service each Sunday in Hollywood, we also distribute gently used clothing and other essentials. Our target population includes individuals of all ages, from toddlers to seniors, as well as the disabled and blind. Work for Food is a 7-day-a-week community trash clean-up program designed to initiate the transition from life on the streets to involvement in the workforce by picking up trash in return for $10 in food gift cards from local fast food restaurants and grocery stores.

Our goal is to meet the needs of the “whole” person — spiritually, emotionally, and physically. The organization is governed by a skilled and experienced local board of directors comprised of men and women who have a tremendous passion to meet the needs of the hurting in the greater Los Angeles area.
