As part of your participation in this course, you are being asked to develop a research project related to a particular artistic movement or struggle in Latinoamérica, musician, musical group in Latin America that has sought to visiblize the stories and struggles of people who have been invisiblized through the process of coloniality and the colonial hierarchies of class, race, gender, and sexuality that have been erected since 1492.
Final research projects should be 8-10 pages in length, typed and double-spaced. It should include all of the following elements:
1. A working, descriptive title.
2. A statement of your research topic, its scope -- chronological, geographical, etc.-- and significance.
3. A discussion of the secondary literature on your topic, including at least two peer-reviewed articles on (or adjacent) to your topic.
4. Your analysis of the source(s) you have identified (song(s), poem(s), visual art, film, artist)
5. A conclusion that ties your specific topic to one or more of the larger themes covered in this course.
