CLS 1300 - Flores - Lenses of Justice: Exploring Social Issues through Photograhy

This guide provides library resources to support the completion of Dr. Flores's social justice and photography project for CLS 1300.

Directions for Project Step 2: Research Process

Begin researching your topic via different forms (i.e. TV news, radio, newspaper or CSULA library database).  The goal is for you to become an “expert” about your social issue.  Here is a list of online newspapers that you can begin researching:

NY Times

Wall Street

Ethnic News Watch

Please note that you must first register with an account directly to these newspapers to access their account.  As CSULA students, you get to access for these newspapers at no cost.

The goal is for you to research THREE SOURCES – that helps explain your photograph/ social issue (i.e. racism, gender discrimination, migration patterns, labor discrimination, educational segregation, women reproductive rights or animal rights).

Two of the sources must be peer reviewed.  Readings from the class are allowed.
