CUP OF CULTURE: ONE CAMPUS, ONE BOOK: THE LARAMIE PROJECT

3:15 pm ● Alhambra Room
3rd Floor ● University-Student Union

One Campus, One Book (OBOC) is a University Library initiative designed to encourage a common reading experience and sense of community at Cal State L.A. The 2013-14 selection, The Laramie Project, is a play by Moisés Kaufman about reactions to the 1998 murder of University of Wyoming gay student Matthew Shepard in Laramie, Wyoming, which was denounced as a hate crime and brought attention to the lack of hate crimes laws in various states, including Wyoming, related to LGBTQ equality. This OCOB kickoff event includes selected readings from the book, OCOB involvement opportunities, and more.
