Creating Maps with HistoryPin

Create interactive digital maps with pinned archival or open web images, video, and text. Digital maps; digital tours; digital collections. Great for class and group assignments.

What is HistoryPin?

HistoryPin is a digital, user-generated archive of photos, videos and audio files, and personal recollections. You can use HistoryPin to create your own digital collections that have interactive maps by creating a collection and 'pinning' photos, video or audio files, or text entries. The project was created by the non-profit company Shift (formerly We Are What We Do) in collaboration with Google.

This guide is designed to help you sign-up, navigate, and use HistoryPin for class assignments. HistoryPin is great for creating digital tours, including spatially-mapped collections and video tours you can share for free.
