Writing & Citing (APA, MLA etc.)

Self-help for creating citations and references for research papers.

CSE (Council of Science Editors)

This style is frequently used in the Biology, Ecology, Zoology, and Medical sciences. Most courses at Cal State LA use the name-year system, but some may use citation-sequence and citation-name systems. If you are not sure of which system to use, double-check with your professor.

* Note that journals in CSE style references should be abbreviated using the List of Title Word Abbreviations on the ISSN International Centre website here.
